Happy Chinese New Year and Happy Year of the Ox!  Here at Fertile Ground we have been noticing that this year the lunar new year feels like a much more appropriate time to celebrate than January 1 did.  With a less volatile political environment, more Covid vaccinations and lowering case counts, more sunlight and spring around the corner there is a palpable energy of looking towards the new and letting go of what no longer serves us.

Below you’ll find a delicious chocolate truffle recipe that would be a wonderful way to ring in the new year, celebrate Valentines Day- or both!  I’ve also shared a blog post about one of our most endeared and emotionally complex foods….

We hope you have a relaxing weekend-- stay warm!

Valentines Day... Love, Hearts, and Sugar.

Sugar -- Many of you have shared with me your love/hate relationship with this food, and like most of us in our modern world, I can relate.  For me, 2020 started with multiple disease diagnoses which prompted me to take a closer look at my diet.  And then Covid-19 hit, and in an effort to help regulate my immune system I made a decision to eliminate refined sugar. Welcome Caitlin!

Caitlin has enjoyed the benefits of acupuncture for many years and is delighted to now be part of Fertile Ground. Having personally experienced pregnancy loss and fertility challenges, she values the care and healing that each Fertile Ground practitioner cultivates. Caitlin brings her experience in non-profits, community organizing, and running her own small business to the office team.

When she isn't making messes or playing outside with her four year old and her partner, Caitlin might be studying genealogy and documentary making, growing perennial fruits, making music, working on local racial justice and mutual aid efforts, moving her body or falling down an internet rabbit hole. She's also pretty excited to travel again when we can do that safely!

We are so thrilled to have Caitlin be part of our team. Say hi when you see her around the clinic!

Check-In Update

As the weather gets colder and we continue our COVID safe practices, you are welcome to come into the clinic for your phone check-in instead of staying in your car!  Just come in at your appointment time and we will get you set up in a cozy treatment room to talk with your practitioner over the phone.

One of the best ways to support local small businesses is writing Google reviews. We would greatly appreciate you taking a few minutes to review our clinic.
Thank you!
